Looks like a wedding is underway! You’re engaged. Congratulations! We are super excited for you and the one that you’ll share your life with. So now that you’re engaged, you have Lots to do! Now, no need to become overwhelmed. We’re here to help you. Consider us your wedding resource. Look at our ‘Wedding Resources’ sections for ways that will cut down the amount of time you’ll spend in dress shopping, looking for vendors, and so forth. We want to help you in any way we can. We hope you’ll find some useful information as you prepare for your special day.
What to Do Next
The two of you will likely come together soon to set a date for your wedding. With that said, once you’ve selected a date, it’s a great idea to send out ‘Save the Dates’ to those who will be invited to your special day. You may even opt to have an engagement party. We encourage you to do so! We want you to enjoy every bit of the days leading up to your wedding, because you so deserve it! So, say “yes” to an engagement party. It’s a great way to spend time with those you’re closest to and even catch up with some whom you’ve not seen or spoken to in some time. It’s a great way to kick off the celebration of your engagement and upcoming nuptials so go for it!
It’s Time to Plan the Wedding
Now that you’ve had your engagement celebration and have your wedding date, it’s time to begin planning. First things first, we encourage you to work with a wedding planner to help alleviate some of the stress that comes with wedding planning. Furthermore, it’s a good idea to have someone to share your ideas with and can partner with you and your fiancé for your wedding vision. Give all the details of your special day to your wedding planner. They can handle it! Before hiring a wedding planner, put together a Wedding Vision Board (or perhaps you’ve done this already) to give your planner an idea of your overall vision. You should also have an idea of the type of wedding dress you’ll be wearing on your wedding day. Your wedding vision board should include potential wedding colors, your idea for a venue space, and what you may serve your guests for dinner and/or the reception/cocktail hour, and any other ideas you may have. This will be a big help to your planner because it shows that you know exactly what you want. We want your planning experience to be enjoyable, not stressful. Hiring a planner will help facilitate this experience.
These are your next steps now that you’re engaged. Whether your wedding is a year or more from your engagement, enjoy every minute of it. It’s a very special time for you and we want it to be beautiful. Follow the steps provided above and it will. Happy Engagement!
